和訳の添削、解説をお願いします。

現在、動物保護の過激派組織のメンバーにインタビューした「60minutes」の記事を和訳しています。

どうしても解釈に迷うと所が何点か見つかり今一度皆さんに私の和訳の添削、指導をお願いします。

the group’s first in over 20 years according to him単純ですが、どう訳せば良いでしょうか。

"So in some places where people still live in what we would call a primitive society, you see tribesman into the water off their island homes with a spear and stand there looking for a fish and then kill that fish, and that’s food for him and his family. That’s not natural? "
(では、我々が原始社会と呼ぶような一部の地域で現在も暮らしている人々はどうでしょう。部族民は水上住宅に住み、槍を構えて獲物となる魚を探し、そして次に魚を殺します。それは彼とその家族の食料です。これも不自然だと？)この訳は適切でしょうか？

"(中略)There is a difference between commodification and surviving to live. "
surviving to live.はどう訳すのが適切でしょうか？

"I think it becomes a lot easier to exploit when you turn something into a commodity… when you objectify something it’s easy to exploit. "
この文章は全然わかりません。和訳を教えて下さい。

"You do see, from your perspective that the life of one man is worth more than the life of dozens of animals?"
You do see,とはどう訳せば良いでしょうか？

When pressed, the man mentioned another incident, this one all the way across the country in Salinas, California.
男性が途中からずっともう一つの事件に言及した？みたいですが、この場合のWhen pressedとacross the countryが分かりません。

→いいんじゃないでしょうか。

surviving to live.はどう訳すのが適切でしょうか？
→生き延びること（かな？）

→商品化することで、非常に楽に利用することができるようになると思うのです…物扱いすることで簡単に搾取できる。

You do see,とはどう訳せば良いでしょうか？
→あなたは…と思う（理解している）のですね？

この男がいうには、(インタビューに応じるのは)この組織にとって20数年ぶりとのことです。

"では、我々が原始社会と呼ぶような一部の地域で現在も暮らしている人々はどうでしょう・・・"
日本語だけ読んで意味が分かるので問題ないと思います。ただ、最初の文の後半部分はもう一工夫できるのではないでしょうか。
「その島に住む人々はやすを持って近くの海へ行き、魚を見つけて殺すことで、生計を立てている」

"surviving to live"
字義通りに訳せば、「生きるために生き延びること」となるでしょう。もう少し日本語らしくするなら、「何とか暮らしていくこと」とでも訳せるでしょうか。

"I think it becomes a lot easier to exploit when you turn something into a commodity… when you objectify something it’s easy to exploit."
「商品化したものはどう利用しても全然気にならなくなるのだと思うのです・・・つまり、生き物を物としてみれば、自分の都合に合わせて気軽に使えるということです」

「(その見方からすれば)・・・だと認識しているというのですね」

「問い詰められると」
