ステンレス鋼（SUS）とアルミニウム（Al）を比較する文なのですが、以下のような書き方で通じるでしょうか。添削と改良のアドバイスをお願いできますでしょうか。特に「酸化されにくい」というところを2回繰りかえさないような改良、上記のような意味での「同種の金属では」というニュアンスがつたわる表現があれば幸いです。

英文の添削は以下のとおりです。

ただし、SUSとAlの場合と、同種の金属の場合を対比させるために2つの英文に分けたほうが良いと思います。

(1) この場合は、resistant to～を使用します。
(2) 後のmore resistant toは、意味を明確に示すために省略しないほうが良いと思います。気になる場合は、more oxidation-resistant に変えてみてはいかがでしょうか。
(3) in the same kind of metal.
この場合は、「同じ種類の金属に関しては」という意味ですので、for metals of the same typeという表現を用います。
(4) the non-polished surface
non-polished はunpolished のほうが良いと思います。また、surfaceは、oneに置き換えることができます。

添削後
SUS was more resistant to oxidation than Al, and the polished surface was more oxidation-resistant than the unpolished one for metals of the same type.

参考訳

私はこの方面の用語には全然詳しくないのですが、同種のとは、そこで試験されたSUSとAIだけであれば、私ならこう書きます。

SUS was more resistant to oxidizing than Al.
And as for the surface, the polished surface was more resistant to oxidizing for both metal than non-polished.

The result of oxidation resistance:
non-polished Al < polished Al < non-polished SUS ＜ polished SUS

なお、抵抗性はresistive（抵抗する）よりresistant（抵抗性がある）を選び、酸化現象はいわゆる酸化錆＝錆びること、というイメージでoxidizingを選びました（oxidationは、化学実験などでの酸化のイメージがするのですが、どうでしょうか。

なお、今回の英文が実験結果であるのであれば、一般現象ではなく、あなた（もしくはあなたの組織が実験などで）やったことを指摘しているのでwas自体は問題ありません。

ありがとうございます。参考にさせていただきます。oxidizingとoxidationのどちらがいいのかわかりませんが、実験では空気中で加熱したり、硫酸につけたりするので、化学実験としての酸化試験が近いのではと思います。

現在も過去も未来も通用する場合は、wasは使わないと思います。

Resistive⇒resistantの方がGoogleでヒットしました。
