If there were no wind at all, the sea would slowly rise and fall again, because of the tides made by the moon ; but it would do this very quietly , so that if you just looked for a moment you would notice nothing.

この英文のyou would notice nothingを、if you just... が無くても前のif there were...

添付参照URLのセミコロンの使い方を考えれば、「この英文のyou would notice nothingを、if you just... が無くても前のif there were...

so that if you just looked for a moment you would notice nothing.
it would do this very quietly,

would: Opinion or hope
•I would imagine that they'll buy a new one.
•I suppose some people would call it torture.
•I would have to agree.
•I would expect him to come.
•Since you ask me I'd say the blue one is best.

would: Presumption or expectation
•That would be Jo calling. I'll answer it.
•We saw a police helicopter overhead yesterday morning. | Really? They would have been looking for those bank robbers.

even so much thatは間違いの節とのこと、

It is not even so much that節であれば意味をなしてくるが、質問文の挿入句とも言える「even so much that our eyes can see it」は、なんの意味もなさない。

xxx so that ... would ...

It would do this very quietly には「前のif there were...
