文構造がよくわからないので誰か英語が堪能な方和訳お願いします。

Substitute～ は命令か 主語の省略(分かりきってる場合や一般のyouなど)でgospelは「絶対的心理」つまり「絶対に正しいこと」だと思うのですが…
ちなみにこれは下線部なのですが、それを含めた全文はこうです。

ですから、

の部分は、
「摩天楼を、自動車やトランク、服一着などに置き換えて、40年を1年、3ヶ月、6ヶ月などに置き換えてみよう。そうすれば、あらゆる近代産業のリーダーの絶対的な真理がわかる。」と訳せます。
