下の文はそれだけでは文としては完成していません。

[She（the worker bee) is not so sure about the idea] that gathering pollen is her calling.
などとすれば良いのではないかと思いますが、、、
口語の場合はredundant であるので省くこともあり得ると思います。

It's (It is)　that gathering pollen is her calling.

What(何か？）に対してIt is（それはーーです。）と答えます。

It is が省略されています。Thatは名詞節を導く接続詞です。
