またまた某所で見かけました質問ですが、次の英文の"if Turkey need it"は、"if Turkey should need it"の"should"を省略したものと考えるべきか、または"should Turkey need it"のつもりで書き誤ったものと見るべきか、それともまた別の解釈があり得るのか、如何なものでしょうか:

So after greetings and opening remarks, Trump said that, first, he wanted Erdogan to get rid of ISIS, and that we would provide assistance if Turkey need it.

例えば、

Trump:　We will provide assistance if Turkey need it.
の直接話法を間接話法にすると、
Trump said that we will provide assistance if Turkey need it.
は駄目ではあるが、

Trump said that we would provide assistance if Turkey needed it.
Trump said that we would provide assistance if Turkey need it.

どちらもOK。

故に"should"の省略ではない。

②は、「トルコが支援を必要とする」事態がまだ発生していない段階の話であれば"if Turkey _needs_ it"とし、また"we would"ではなくて"we will"とするのが普通かと思いますが、なぜこのままでOKなんですかね？
