大学受験対策の英作文の添削をお願いします。

和文(1)「ここ数年、さまざまな国際集会において、特にアジアからの出席者の間から、「日本はほとんど西洋化してしまっているように思えるのに、日本文化や日本の伝統が存在すると言えるのか」という質問を受ける。」

(2)「アジアの人達でなくても、「日本文化」はどこにあるのかと疑うのは当然である。


英作(1)「For years, in various international meeting, especially people from Asia have asked me that though Japan seems to have turned to be like Europe, can you say culture and tradition of Japan exixt?」

(2)「There is a good reason that not only people from Asia but also others doubt that culture of Japan passed away.」


ここで英作(1)について質問があるのですが、have asked me that 以下の時制は現在形でいいのでしょうか？
主節の時制が現在完了の経験の用法の場合はどうすればいいのでしょうか？

<訳例>

(1) These past several years, in various international conferences, participants from Asia in particular ask me, "Can you say that there are Japanese culture and the Japanese tradition though most of the Japanese culture seems to have westernized?"

(2) Even if they are not Asians, it is natural that they doubt where the Japanese culture is.

現在完了は日本語にすると、過去形に近い響きがありますが、英語の時制の上では、現在形に近いのではないかと思います。よって、時制は現在形でよいのではないでしょうか?私の訳例では、直接話法にしてしまったので、時制を考えなくて済みました。
