This kind of injuries も
意味は同じで，どちらも正しいです。
injuries という複数で kind としてよく，
順序もどちらでもいいです。

（受動態でなく）能動態にすれば，can がありますので，
A violent contraction of the muscles of the thigh can cause injuries of this kind.
となります。
（仮に can がなければ causes と -s がつくはずです。contraction の方が主語なので）
