発音は無理でも、せめて聞き取りだけでも、と独学を始めて1年。たびたびお世話になっています。
字幕がなかったニュースを、もうちょっと知りたいです。

NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams から「犬とあまりキスしないほうが良いよ」という30秒ほどの話題です。
自分なりに知識を総動員して、文章にしてみました、冠詞もなんとなく…です。
(1) と (2) の所がどうしても分からず、適当な語感であてはめましたが、なんと言っているんでしょうか？
(音声は下についてしまいますが)

　This next item is for us, dog lovers, and it's a reminder: you can't love your dog too much.
　That old expression that there is nothing cleaner than a dog's mouth.
　It's a　(1) canal　, it's wrong.
　And a new study in the archives of All Biology shows,
　if you're into kissing your dog or accepting kisses from your dog, you can get gum disease or other elements.
　This　(2) being ident hour, let just refer　　you back to another old expression:
　think about where that dog's mouth has been?
　The study says, dogs are self cleansers. There is a euphemism, meaning: they have a ton of bacteria in their mouth.

（２）being dinner hour

ちなみに、All Biologyの箇所は、oral biologyです。
