『fall in』の意味について

英語の数学の本を読んでいると
The probability of falling in any set A
とあったんですけども、
『任意の集合A（ほにゃらら）の確率』
って訳になると思うのですが、『fall in』の部分の訳がわかりません。

The probability of the random variable falling within a particular range of values is …

Example 1: What is the probability of throwing a four in one throw of a die?
Solution: The die may fall in any one of six ways. Only one of these will be "4". The probability of throwing a four is 1/6.

Since the probability of the Sure Event (that the DV value will fall between negative and positive infinity) is always 1, then the total area under all normal curves must always equal 1.

Standard normal distribution: The distribution is centred on 0, with 99.7% falling between －3 and 3 and 95% falling between －1.96 and 1.96.

確率変数 X の実測値が、ある区間や集合 A に属することを、
X falls in/within/between A. のように言うらしいですよ。
訳は、『この確率変数の値が、ある集合 A に含まれる確率』くらいになるかな。
文脈に従って工夫すれば、もう少しこなれた日本語にできるかもしれません。
日本語でも、数学上のスラングとして「X (の値)が A に落ちる」とか
言ってしまう場合はありますが、それは英語表現からの直訳でしょうね。
