英語の構文について教えてください【形容詞句なのに、副詞のような働き？】

以下文章について教えてください。

In a further embodiment, a thermoelectric transducer means is used including a thermal expansion member, such as a bimetal strip, attached to the fiber and an electrical heating element supported adjacent to such expansion member so that when a control signal is applied to such heating element, the expansion member bends an amount corresponding to the current ofsuch signal to deflect the fiber.

この英文の、supported adjacent to such expansionの箇所。
～に隣接して支持され、という訳になっているのですが、adjacent は形容詞だと思うのですが、訳例を見ると、あたかもsupportedを修飾しているように訳されており、副詞のように見えてしまい、supported とadjacentの間の結びつきが見えてきません。

どなたかこの文章のadjacentの働き、構造について教えていただけませんでしょうか？

「彼は無事に到着した」

この safe を副詞用法と言ってしまえばおしまいですが、
形容詞でありながら、he の状態を表わしています。
ただ、arrived した時の様子です。

このように、形容詞が主語の状態の説明でありながら、
結果的に動詞について副詞的にかかる感覚になることがあります。

ここでは element という名詞について、
adjacent という形容詞が用いられているのですが、
動詞（過去分詞）の supported に副詞的にかかる部分もあります。
