ラテン語の大文字、小文字

ラテン語生物名の大文字、小文字の使い分けが分かりません。

例えば、次のサイトの標題を入れて8～10行目に、次の(ア)の文があります。

Homo sapiens sapiensでは、Homoが大文字で、sapiensとsapiensが小文字です。
Homo sapiens idaltuでは、Homoが大文字で、sapiensとidaltuが小文字です。

このようなラテン語生物名における大文字、小文字の使い分けはどのようなラテン語文法上の規則（又は、どのような生物分類名命名規則）に基づいているのでしょうか。

In modern usage, the first letter of the first part of the name, the genus, is always capitalized in writing, while that of the second part is not, even when derived from a proper noun such as the name of a person or place. Similarly, both parts are italicized when a binomial name occurs in normal text. Thus the binomial name of the annual phlox (named after botanist Thomas Drummond) is now written as Phlox drummondii.

ドメイン、界、門、綱、目、科などの、属よりも大きな区分には、最初の1文字が大文字で、それ以外は小文字の名前を用いる。これらは属名や種小名の字体（一般にイタリック体）と同じ字体は用いない。これらの分類群の学名を属名＋種小名の前に続けて書くことはあまりしない。

種小名以下は全部小文字, それより上は最初が大文字.

については曖昧ではあるもののおよそ
・属名は単数主格
・それより上は複数主格
でいいと思う. あと種小名については「属名を修飾する」のが原則なので形容詞 (性・数・格は属名にあわせる) とか分詞とか名詞 (の属格もしくは属名と同格の主格) とか, 本来は制限があります... ってところだけラテン語の文法に従う.
