The same rules apply to answering questions. A long pause or complete silence as a response to a question would be interpreted as: 1-not hearing the question, 2-not understading the question, 3-not wanting to answer the question, 4-ignoring the question, or, 5-anger or refusal to answer.
In the same way, ansering a question too indirectly gives the questioner the impression that respondent either does not understand the question or wants to evade giving an answer.

同じ規則が質問の答え方にも当てはまる。質問に対する答えとしての長い休止や完全な沈黙は、次のようなものとして解釈されるだろう。
１　聞いていなかった
２　理解出来なかった
３　答えたくない
４　無視
５　怒りか拒否
同様に、質問に直接でなくあまりに遠回しに答えることは、解答者は理解していないか回答を避けようとしているかどちらかの印象を、質問者に与えるだろう
