英文の添削をよろしくお願いします。

日本の参考書にはアメリカ英語とイギリス英語の言い方が記載されています。
イギリス人はアメリカ英語の単語の意味が分からない、ということはあるのでしょうか？
例えば、車のウインカーをblinkerと言うと、分からない人は多いのでしょうか?

Blinkersはアメリカ英語で、winkersはイギリス英語です。

訳された文は、逆に訳されています。こんな感じではどうでしょう：

English language references (dictionaries) in Japanese usually give examples both in American English and in British English.

Does this mean that it's possible for a British person not to understand the meaning of an American word?

For example, if an American said "blinkers", would a British person know that it meant "winkers"?
