『皆さん、はじめまして。学校長の○○です。ようこそ、○○高校のホームページにおいで下さいました。ありがとうございます。
本校は60年を超える長い歴史を持つ学校ですが、平成16年に●●高校と●●高校とが統合され、校名も○○高校と改め「ぎふ総合選択高校」として新しくスタートを切って6年目を迎えています。この耳慣れない「ぎふ総合選択高校」とはどんな学校なのか、その説明から始めましょう。
本校には普通科、理数科、生活福祉科の3学科があります。入学時には希望に合わせてそれぞれの学科別に入り、学科にふさわしい教育課程に沿って学習します。しかし、自分が所属する学科にはない教科・科目に興味・関心があったり、自分の進路希望に適切な教科・科目が他学科にある時は、学科の枠を越えてその学習をすることが出来ます。例えば、普通科や理数科の生徒が生活福祉科の授業「介護」や「食文化」を受けることができるのです。この様なシステムになっている学校を「ぎふ総合型選択高校」と呼んでいます。大変珍しい数少ない高校です。次に、3学科を簡単に説明しましょう。普通科は様々な進路希望に応えて文理コースを設けています。また授業選択を取り入れた少人数授業にも特徴があり進学・就職に適した学習ができます。理数科は自然科学の基礎基本から学び、校外研修を重ねて課題研究に取り組み、理系大学を中心にほぼ全員が進学します。生活福祉科は福祉に関する最新設備・機器を備えた学習環境の中で、実習を中心に学習します。2年生からは福祉コース・食物コースに分かれ、それぞれ専門科目を深く学びながら多くの者が進学します。特に、福祉系に関しては中部学院大学・短期大学部と高大連携の教育プログラムを実施しており、充実したより高度な学びを行うことが出来ます。
さて本校の近くには長良川が流れ、周囲は豊かな自然に恵まれ落ち着いた環境にあります。その中で、「自立・創造・敬愛」を校訓に、具体的な6つの「目指す生徒の姿」を掲げ、地域はもとより社会から愛され信頼される人材育成に努めています。ごく自然に身だしなみを整え挨拶を忘れず、時間を守ることができる。更に自らの進路目標に向かって自主的・自発的に学習に取り組む一方で、部活動にも熱中する生徒が集う学校、そのような活気にあふれる学校作りに、私たち教職員は燃えています。以下、本校のホームページをご覧いただき学校教育のないようや活動状況をご理解いただければ幸いです。また、その内容等についてご意見やご感想がありましたら、ぜひお聞かせくださいますようお願いします。』
