1. Many people have visited the temple to worship it as the Kannon of Kiyomizu temple since the Heian era.

When you walk along the approach and reach the top, you will be welcomed by Niomon (deva gate), Saimon (west gate) and Sanju-no-to (three-storied pagoda) against Mt. Otowa.

2. Many people have visited the temple to pay their respects to its Kannon (Deity of Mercy) since Heian period because it is famous as Kannon of Kiyomizu temple.
When you walk along the approach and reach the top, you will see Deva gate, West gate and three-storied pagoda against Mt. Otowa.

After the Heian era, a lot of people visit a shrine as Shimizu's goddess of mercy.

When the approach to a shrine is hit the peak, the deva gate, the west gate, and Three-Storied Pagoda receive it against the backdrop of Mt. Otowa-yama in Higashiyama.
