英語の２文の意味を教えて頂きたいです

次の会話における2文の意味が分かりません。
① ･･････, but nothing seems to stick.
② That’s one way of putting it.
どなたか解説をお願いします。因みに、英検のリスニングの問題の１つだそうです。

A: How’s your studying going, Terry? Are you ready for the Spanish test?
B: It’s tough, Kate. I’m really making an effort to get through the vocabulary list, but nothing seems to stick.
A: It’s not easy to memorize so many words, is it?
B: That’s one way of putting it. I guess all I can do is keep at it.
A: You might want to change your focus. Mr. Sharpe said the grammar section is worth more points.
B: Really? Maybe that’s the way to go, then.

（覚える・頭に突き刺さる・スイスイ頭に入る）

そういう言い方も出来るよね、そうかもね。

回答をありがとうございました。ネットで調べてみて stick の意味がたくさんあり、まるで見当がつきませんでした。 stick の次に to my brain (memory) などがあってくれたらわかったかも知れませんが、不自然なのかな？ また、 put it に関しては「言う」という意味だと自分の頭の中に書いてあるだけで、私にとって死んだ表現に過ぎませんでした。本当に回答をありがとうございました。
