viでsp(split)やv(visual)が使えない。

こんにちは、今CentOSでvimを使っています。
（telnetで作業をしています）

なぜかvimで編集の際にsp,vsp,vなどのコマンドが効きません。

ちなみにCentOSのversionは
Linux XXXXXXXX 2.6.18-128.1.10.el5 #1 SMP Thu May 7 10:39:21 EDT 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

vim-enhanced パッケージが必要じゃないでしょうか。

yum list installed |grep vim
とすると
vim-minmal ///// installed
vim-common ///// base
vim-enhanced //// base
となっていて、インストールされていませんでした。

インストールするとうまくいきました。

enhanceがあるのを知りませんでした。

環境変数 TERM が「適切でない」, とか?
