そこには、一つもしくはそれ以上の街の指導者の家族から選ばれ、ヴィーナスの神殿で捧げ物をし、他の信仰でも同様な役割があったかもしれない一般人の巫女もいた。

おそらく同時期に教会の敷地は、公共広場と神殿の間のアライメント（※1）の違いを隠す為幅を増やした門柱によって公共広場から分離したのだ。

そうした法令は、長きに渡り定着してきた聖域で崇拝されていたバッカス信者の小さなグループに対しては特別な事情のある時の例外を認めていた。そして聖アッポンデイオへの崇拝は、市政府による支援は失ったものの、聖域は引き続き使用されていたので、こうしたもののひとつと認められていたに違いない。

アポロ神の聖域では、碑文に記載されている通り、公職者が地方議員の命令に従って、古い祭壇を新しいものに置き換えた。
