cynic = sínɪk

scenic = síːnɪk

発音は極めて似ている。scenic の方が明らかに一般的な言い回し。だから敢えて scenic と引っ掛けて cynic なのでしょう。内向的な Travis の歌詞にはピッタリな単語。
