(4)民主主義の大切さ
We live in a democratic society. If I ask Japanese whether they take part in the election to build a peaceful and stable scioety, most of the answers would be "No." Although they have the right to vote, some of them don't go to vote. This is against the sprit of democracy. We should take part in the politics actively in order for us to live equally.

民主主義といっても階層がいろいろあって、階層内の格差は積極的に政治に関与しないと格差なんて一向になくならない。東大の要約問題2014年だっけな、その英文をぜひ読んで欲しいね。ほんとの民主主義とは？について論じてる英文だった。平等の実現=社会主義とかいって短絡的に言っちゃうようなのが歳をとった大人が言ってるとしたらほんとにあさましいわ。高校生でも社会主義ぐらい知ってるわヴォケw

そもそもDemocracyとEqualは関係はないと思います。

Democracyはみんなで代表者を選ぶことに意義があるだけで、みんなを平等にしたいならそれはSocialist（社会主義）です。

We live in a democratic society, however, many of us would not vote at elections.
This defeats the concept of democracy if you opt not to choose your leaders.

It is important to participate in politics to gain equal life style for all of us.

文法間違いはないと言えるが、意味をなさないと思う。

仮定法(if節を従属節に持つこと）にはzero, 1st, 2nd and 3rd conditionalの４つの構文が基本になります。

すれば、下記の文体の意味の違いを理解できるとおもいます。

If I ask Japanese whether they take part in the election to build a peaceful and stable society, most of the answers are "No." (zero conditional)

If I ask Japanese whether they take part in the election to build a peaceful and stable society, most of the answers will be "No." (1st conditional)

If I asked Japanese whether they take part in the election to build a peaceful and stable society, most of the answers would be "No." (2nd conditional)


これに加え、mixed conditionalと称して上記の基本的構文をミックスする文体があることはたしかですが・・・・・

上記の説明からすれば

2nd conditionalの

If I asked Japanese whether they take/took part in the election to build a peaceful and stable society,
PRESENT
most of the answers would be "No.
PRESENT

ならばmixed conditionalの

If I ask Japanese whether they take part in the election to build a peaceful and stable society,
FUTURE
most of the answers would be "No."
PRESENT

となるのかしら？すれば、「未来（10年後）の日本人に選挙に参加するかと聞いたら、ノーと答えるであろう。」という意味となるのか？はたして、この理解が正しいかどうかもわからない。だから何故貴方がmixed conditionalを使うのか？どうゆう意味で使っているのか聞きたいくらいです。

仮定法の使い方に？あり。

文法解釈は

If I ask Japanese ...., most of the answers are ZERO CONDITIONAL
If I ask Japanese ...., most of the answers will be FIRST CONDITIONAL
If I asked Japanese ...., most of the answers would be SECOND CONDITIONAL
If I ask Japanese ....., most of the answers would be MIXED CONDITIONAL

なぜmixedにしたの？

When I ask Japanese ..., most of the answers would .... ifをwhenに変えれば、仮定法の呪縛から解き放されるためにwouldは推量のwouldとして使える。
If I ask Japanese ...., most of the answers will ...　ならばfirst conditionalであり得る仮定法として使える。

選挙の投票率は50％以上のはずです。
