英語の表現でわからないことがあったので教えてほしいです。

You’re my styleとは you’re my typeと同じ意味でしょうか？

背景として、海外男性とデートした後にテキストで送られてきました。
彼: Honestly you’re exactly my style

"you are my type "と "you are my style "とにはかなりの意味のちがいがあります。

① You’re my type
誰かに"you are my type "と言う場合、普通その人が自分の好みに合う特定の身体的特徴や性格的特徴を持っていることを意味します。

② You are my style.
こちらは通常、その人の服装やファッションセンス、身のこなし方を賞賛しています。

まとめると、"you are my type "は身体的魅力と性格的魅力に焦点を当て、"you are my style "はファッションセンスと全体的な美的感覚に焦点を当てています。どちらも肯定的な感情を伝える表現ですが、魅力や称賛の異なる側面を強調しています。

(1) Both (つまり You are my type. と You are my style. との両方) mean just about the same thing but, the phrase "you are my type" usually refers to romantic relationships. like you're the type i usually go for with dating.

"you are my style" seems like a friendly thing like youre my style of friend or your style matches my vibe.

overall, either is fine and used to portray the same thing

いずれにしても、お世辞で言っているだけのことなので、適当に聞き流しておいた方がいいです。特に西洋人の男が日本人女性に対して言う言葉は、大して意味のないお世辞ばかりです。それを日本人は本気で捉えるから、変なことになるのです。
