英語の添削をお願いします

私の「折り紙」展示サイトの英語ページに書いている紹介文です。
一部でも結構ですので、添削またはアドバイスお願い致します。

About this site --- Origami, a paper-folding craft art of Japanese origin, represents a Japanese culture characterized by its complexity and simplicity. Today origami is popular world wide, and many origami artists have created many great origami works all over the world. We have here folded and diplayed some of these great works to show you the rich world of origami.

The paper used here --- Successful completion of complex origami works requires the paper of a proper size with suitable texture and quality. Despite that requirement, we here, whenever possible, have used the most common 15 cm-square origami paper to prove that these fine works are really accesible for the people with the limitation of paper availability.

Copyrights of the works --- The copyright of the folding diagram of origami works belongs to their creators. In this site, to credit the creator's copyright, we have specified the creator's name and the diagram reference for each work displayed. At the same time, we are making serious efforts to obtain the permission for displaying from the copyright holders. The photos in this gallery merely shows a possible representation of the works. More skillful folders could get better results.

There are many origami artists all over the world creating their original works. Here, we have folded and displayed some of these great works. We hope you will enjoy the rich world of origami.

Why don’t you try one! --- Some of the complex origami works require paper with suitable texture and quality. However, we wish to make the art of origami accessible to everyone. Whenever possible, we have chosen the works you can fold with ordinary paper readily available in most places. For most of the works displayed here, we used most common 15 x 15 cm origami paper, but usual office paper should do just fine if it is cut to the proper size.
The photos in this gallery merely show a possible representation of the works. The result will depend on your skill and, above all, the care you take in folding it. If you really try very hard, you can perhaps fold it even better.

Copyrights --- The folding diagram of origami works is the copyright of their respective creators. The creator's name and the diagram reference for each work are specified in the relevant parts of this site. To ensure the accuracy of copyright information as well as to obtain permission for displaying their fine art, we have made serious efforts to contact the creator of the works. Unfortunately, some of them were impossible to reach for confrmation. Therefore, in case that you find any error in the information or this site infringes anyone's copyright, we would appreciate it if you could let us know.

私の意図のニュアンスを汲んでいただいた上での添削で、うれしい限りです。
私のものよりも、フレンドリーでリラックスした感じが出ていて、これはこれで捨てがたいと思います。

この質問を読み、こねこはアメリカにいる知り合いが言っていたことを思い出しました♪

ある晩、日本文化の紹介の為に、彼女は自宅に折り紙に興味のあるアメリカ人を招くことにしました。そうして集まった人たちの中には、数学者が数名いたとのことです。彼らが言うには、折り紙の折り方は数学的に解釈する面白みがあるから、折り紙の折り方の公式なんてものもあるんだとさ♪

このことを聞いてから、こねこは折り紙に興味があったのですが、こねこができるのは鶴くらいのもので、パンダやポケモンのような高度な折り紙を折るには至りませんでしたー☆

それで・・・この質問をきっかけに、ネットで折り紙のことを検索してみました。そうしたら、ビンゴ！　折り紙は数学者の間で分析されているではないですかー☆　　イギリスには折り紙の学会のようなものまであるし・・・。

ということで、検索して出て来たサイトに目を通して、About this siteをこねこなりに書いてみたので、見てくださいー☆

どうも折り紙を始めたのは、日本というわけではないみたいなのですが、こねこの検索で引っかかったサイトが他にもあるので、そちらの方も良かったら参照してみてね♪

上の文は、こねこが検索でヒットされたサイトを見て、かなり書き直したのですが、原文自体はきれいに書けていると思うので、そのままでオッケーだと思いますよ♪

ありがとうございます。
折り紙の他のページで調べてから回答をいただいたのですね。
私も、お教え頂いたサイトを見てみました。おっしゃるように、折り紙が日本起源とは単純に言えないみたいですね。
その点は、事実認識として、正しく書き直した方が良いと思いました。

皆さんからいただいたアドバイスを基に、サイトの英語を書き直します。

ありがとうございます。随分と簡潔で読みやすくなりました。

第１パラグラフの、パンクチュエイションの使い方はとても参考になります。

第２パラグラフの、"doable"は簡潔ですね。

第３パラブラフに、"along with ---"を使うことで文が流れますね。最後の文で、"vary"を使うのもぴったりきます。

私のはどうも冗長なようです。とても参考になりました。

私のレベルだと、英語がおかしいなと思うようなところはないです。

"world wide"は、ひょっとしたら一語で"worldwide"かなと思うくらい。

ただ、意味が良くわからなかったのは、"At the same time, we are making serious efforts to obtain the permission for displaying from the copyright holders."のところです。そういう努力を現在しているということは、著作権者の許可なく掲示しているものがあるということでしょうか？読んでて少し違和感がありました。

「著作権者の許可が取れてなくて今のところ紹介できないものについても、ご紹介できるように許可を取る努力をしています」ということなら、もう少し言葉を足した方が良いと思います。それとも、違う意味なのかな？

ありがとうございます。
"world wide"については、全く私の初歩的ミスです。辞書を調べれば分かることでしたのに、怠っていました。

著作権の部分では、説明が足りませんでした。意図するところは、
「創作者の名前と出典を明記すれば基本的には著作権への配慮は足りている、というのが折り紙界の常識的なコンセンサスなのですが、それはそれとして、エチケットとして、創作者ご自身からもできるかぎり展示の許可を得るのが望ましいと思う」ので、このように書きました。

確かに私の英語だけを読むと、論旨の不明瞭な文であることは確かです。ロジックについては、日本語では逃げられても、英語では逃げられませんネ。
