人の命がかかっています！教えてください！
癌患者で犬好きの友人に翻訳を頼まれました。私は日常英会話程度はできますが、活字を読むときは、頭の中で英文は英語で、和文は日本語で別々に読解しますので翻訳が苦手です。彼女の余命ある内に完成したいと約束しました。人助けだと思って、みなさんご協力をお願いします。

なぜこれに「人の命がかかっているのか」理解できません。

（なぜそんなタイトルで質問するのでしょう）

訳せれば誰かの命が助かるのですか。

英語が英語で解釈できる方であれば、私よりはるかに英語力はあると推測できますので、翻訳という正式な形ではなくても十分日本語で伝えることは出来ると思います。

私は４０年間の技術翻訳者でしたが、残念ながら、その域には達成できませんでした。特に医学的な専門用語はありませんので、翻訳形式ではなく、普通の語り口調でいいのではないかと思います。
