I didn't mean to say you were to blame. It's just a twist of fate - that's what I meant.

fateだけでは「運命」ですが、a twist of fate とすると「めぐりあわせ」の感じがでると思います。

I didn't mean to say you were the bad one. What I meant to say was it was just a bad coincidence.

「悪い巡り合わせ」というのを「悪い偶然(運が悪かった)」みたいに訳してみました。
