文の流れから意味が違うかも知れない語を
”単語”（意味）
という感じで書き込みました。
全く判らなかった語もあるのですが、
ご存知の方、説明をお願いします。

Multiple substrate specificities of a ”number”（出版物の号） of glycanases and glycosidases are known in literature.


β-Glycosidases (designated as ”BgIA and BgIB”)（？）from Bacillus sp. ”GLI” have been shown to cleave（結合を切る）～linkagers.


The product of BgIB gene was also identified as a ”gellan-degrading”（？） enzyme.


Gradually the ”concept”（概念） of ”one enzyme-one”（酵素一つずつ） activity is vanishing and several examples of multifunctional enzymes are being identified.

ミスに気がつきました。

The product of BgIB gene was also identified as a gellan-degrading enzyme.
BglB由来の産物（この場合はβグリコシダーゼ）はゲランを分解する酵素です。

これは、
BglB由来の産物はゲランもまた分解可能な酵素だとわかっています。
が、正解だと思います。
βグリコシダーゼなのに、グリコシドだけでなくゲランも分解できる
という意味になります。

*アイソザイム＝同じ反応を触媒する別の酵素
*which節＝キトサナーゼの説明

ペクチナーゼはペクチン質を分解する際に反応する酵素的システムから構成されています。

さらに、ペクチナーゼは（ペクチンだけでなく）キトサンへの加水分解活性ももつというような応用研究がなされてきました。
*modification＝この分野では普通は「タンパク質の修飾」を表しますが今回は「応用」の意味でしょう

一般的に、一つの酵素が（たった）一つの活性をもつという考えは消えて（否定されて）きています。
また、機能を複数持つ酵素の例がすでに確認されてきています。


ざっとですが、こんな感じだと思います。
酵素の概説か何かなのでしょうか？
だいぶ古い話な気がしますが・・

BgIA と BgIB　はバチルス菌属の遺伝子のことのようです。

以下の要旨が参考になるかもしれません。
分子生物学の専門用語が使われているので、専門家でないと正確な訳は無理でしょう。

とりあえずわかるのものだけ。

“in place of～”→「～の代わりに」

“constitutes”→「構成する」。これは動詞です。

“be subjected to ～”→「～にさらされる」，「～にかけられる」。

“a number of ～”→「数多くの～」，「いくつかの～」。

２つ飛ばして（この２つは生物の知識のある方に任せましょう）最後の文。

“concept”→　ここでは「考え方」ぐらいの意味か。
“one enzyme-one activity”→「ひとつの酵素にひとつの働き」。切る場所を間違ってます。
