英文の構造について

She certainly showed him some fine games. She made animals out of the ashes that looked and moved like life; and trees with green leaves waving over tiny houses, with men and women an inch high in them, who, when she breathed on them, fell to walking and talking quite properly.

スコットランドの童話の一部からなのですが、with men and women an inch high in themの部分の構造がよく分からないのですが、she madeは、trees with green leaves waving over tiny housesにはかかりますよね。でもshe made with men and women an inch high in themはちょっとおかしいですよね? she made trees with men and women an inch high in themもちょっおかしいですよね? するとshe made an inch high in them with men and womenですか?でもwithの使い方がよく分からないのですが。ご教授よろしくお願いします。

man and woman an inch in them の them は tiny houses のこと。

この場合の with は その tiny housesの中にいる、っていうことかな。

回答ありがとうございます。an inch highは、後置修飾で前のmen and womenを修飾していると解釈すればいいのですか。trees withのwithは手段だと思っていたのですが、「一緒に」という使い方ですか?そうすれば理解できるような気がします。

かかる、というか、She made の目的語として、animals があって、

and trees と and でつないで、trees も目的語。

その trees がどんな木かというと「～がある」と with ～で説明しています。

そして、with は a girl with long hair「長い髪の少女」のような with であるとともに、
with O C とも説明される、付帯状況的なものでもあります。
with my eyes closed, with a book in my hand のような形。

with green leaves waving ～は分詞を使い、

さらに、ご質問の with men and women (an inch high) in ～は
前置詞句を使ったパターン。

後の with の方は、前の tiny houses についての説明です。

どんな家かというと、「～のある、～を～の状態にした」小さな家。

そして、an inch high は後置修飾で、men and women にかかります。
もっとも、いわゆるネクサスという形で、
men and women (who are) an inch high としばしば説明される形。

ミニチュア的なので普通の人間の tall じゃなく、high なんでしょう、
実際、１インチですし。
