先行詞　one of the important events = one important event なので、後ろの部分は has happened になると思うのです。間違いですか？

日本では、not one of them が not a/one something であることがはっきり理解されていなかったり、下の文例で、which の先行詞が the Shetland Islands だという意見にも驚きましたが、日本では、one of 複数 が複数の意味だと教えられているのですか？ 私の英語感覚がおかしいですか？

※ これは「ロイヤル英文法」記載の文例ですが、which name は現代英語の用法ではありません。the name of which が正しい英語だそうです。

「one of the important events」that have happened this year
「今年起きた重大な出来事」の1つ
今年起きた「重大な出来事の1つ」

くらい微妙で、英語から訳する場合、書いた人の感覚１つな気がするのですが間違いでしょうか?

の場合、ここでお勉強させて頂いて、先生の感覚1つで訂正されてしまったということな気がしてきたのですが

ロイヤル英文法によると
1. one of the 複数名詞は原則単数
2. 関係代名詞の場合は原則複数（単数はくだけた言い方）
らしいです。"has happened," "have happened"の検索結果はこの説明を裏切っているのでややこしいです。ネイティブも混用していると考える方が無難といえるかもしれません。

"one of many things that has " site: gov の検索結果 約 11 件

site:govの指定をはずすと、圧倒的に単数扱いが多いようですね。

ということは、どちらに呼応するか、現状は揺れていると言うところかと思います。

論理関係としては、複数呼応が求められますし、みんなが使っている用例からすると単数呼応となると、どちらをとるか、迷うところですね。

気になったので、いくつか文法書をあたってみました。

開拓社の詳解英文法　A COMPREHENSIVE DICTIONARY OF ENGLISH GRAMMAR の縮刷版（昭和52年発行）には、
CONCORD（呼応、一致）として、「one of に先んじられる場合」の項に、教室英語としては複数呼応が正しいが、実際上は単数呼応がみられ、
「このような用法について、Jespersenは、単に動詞がone にattract されたためだと言い、、、」と説明しています。

不思議ですね。No.3のNsuikaさんも、that have が正しいとされているし、松本安弘さんが書かれた、
A PRACTICAL HANDBOOK OF COMMON MISTAKES IN ENGLISH AMONG JAPANESE STUDENTS AND BUSINESSMEN の　one of の項（p.516)にも、one of the things which などに続く動詞は複数対応すると書いてあります。

また、google の検索で条件指定の画面を出すと、一切入力できなくなります。

間違いというか、この場合の先行詞は "the important events" なので、関係節内の動詞も複数で一致しています。
[ [今年あった重大事件] の一つ]
という構造です。

こちらは誤りです。which name は現に使われていますし、the name of which とは用法も違います。

which name の which は関係形容詞で、「この、その」に相当し、the name of which は関係代名詞で「それの名前」に相当します。後者は「それの」の部分を所有格にして、whose name とすることもできます。

which name が形式ばった固い表現であることはたしかですが、現用かどうか、ググって見ましょう。

確かに、one of the important events = one important event になりますが、have/has happened が修飾している部分はthe important events です。

つまり、まず、「今までに起きた重要な事件」というくくりがあり、その中から一つ選び出す、と言う感覚です。

oneを修飾すると考えると、この場合は、「重要な事件のうち、今までに起きた一つ」となり、論理関係がうまくいきません。

ただ、あいまいな部分があり、制限（特定）しているのが、集団そのものなのか、その集団の一部なのか、区別しがたい部分もありますよね。

It's impossible to know which one of them who was lying or talking the truth.
これは、集団の一部を制限（特定）しているのが、was と言う動詞で分かります。

なかには、次のような例もあります。
He is the only one of
the students who has (not have) already taken Latin. 4.
これは、わざわざ、集団のことではないよと断っていますよね。

以上のような場合のほかは、文脈依存となると考えていいように思います。

これらのサーチ結果、特にsite:gov 165 : 1 を見る限り、先行詞を後者のみに限定、複数ととるほうが特殊、どちらかといえば文法ミスに見えるということです。
