In Kyoto, there are many studios where you can change to maiko.

I will introduce "Kyo-no-mai" in Arashiyama. What is Kyo-no-mai? "Kyo-no-mai" is a studio located in Arashiyama where you can change into not onlymaiko, but also togeikoandjunihitoe.
You can leave the studio (for 30 min), so you can take photos with Togetsukyo-bridge over the Katsuragawa.
They will give you one photo in a photo frame for you to take home.
Basic Information
- Name: Kyo-no-mai
- Address; 1-7 Arashiyama Nishiichikawa-cho Saikyo-ku, Kyoto
- Access: 1 minute walk from Hankyu Arashiyama Station, 3 minutes walk from Keifuku (Randen) Arashiyama Station
-Opening Hours:9:30~17:00
- No holidays - Phone: 075-365-1100
- Price: 4,500 yen - Time required: 1-2 hours
- How to apply: apply by phone or from website by previous day
- Official website: URL:http://www.kyonomai.com/ One thing to be careful is the wig.
Not only are they heavy, but if you wear a small wig, you will have a headache.
You might not feel it too tight when you put it on, but when you are wearing it for long time during your walk, it might be painful.
If you feel it tight when you put it on, you should tell the staff.

It is possible just to pass away by accident beside Maikos or Geishas,

but it is impossible to play with them for free.
