After that I found out that her unused smartphone works with the mobile carrier Rakuten. I had wanted to switch to Rakuten.
So I changed my mobile carrier from Softbank to Rakuten.

2つ目3つ目の文に the は付いていませんが、付けなくても良いのでしょうか?

Rakuten や Softbank などは固有名詞なので the を付ける必要はありません。

　最初に出てくる the mobile carrier Rakuten のtheはmobile carrier という言葉についているthe で、Rakuten についているのではありません。
