いくつかの実験では、2枚の帯電しているプレートと１個の磁石が、陰極線管の外側に加えられました。

磁場が働いていて、電界が働いていない時、陰極線は点Aに当たります。電界だけが働いているとき、陰極線は点Cに当たります。
