多分、前のお二方の投稿のようなものが適切なのでしょうが、イディオムのＵＲＬで強引に海に関係していそうなものをピックアップしてみますとこうなります。

海事関係の団体に関係している者です。

ご承知の通り、海事から派生している言葉は非常に多く、普通の英和辞典を見ても
ごろごろ海事関連と表示した言葉が出てきます。
海事用語だけ集めた本（辞書）としては、
佐波宣平著「海の英語-イギリス海事用語根源-」成山堂書店
（単なる英和用語辞典ではなく、語源から用法,意味の変遷を辿り、日本との国民性の違いや海洋文化の歴史までも浮き彫りにした珍書）があります。

又、私が個人的に集めた「海事から派生している言葉」もいくつかあるのですが、現在パソコンがクラッシュし取り出せません。（来週になれば再生可能の見込み）

in the wake of ～：～のすぐあとに続いて、～の後を追って、～にならって

なんで「起床（wake）」で、こんな意味になるの？と思って辞書で調べたら

wake：[海事]航跡

とありました。まさかそんな意味があると思っていなかったので記憶に残っています。

いわゆる cursingの１つですが、昔、気取って使ったら
