The puppy will get hurt trying to walk.
- The puppy will get hurt while it tries to walk.
子犬は、歩こうとして怪我をしてしまうだろう。

分詞構文のところの意味は
「歩こうとする時」「歩こうとしたら」「歩こうとするので」等
様々な解釈が可能で。

「歩こうとして怪我をする」じゃないでしょうか。
