ニュアンスの違いでしょうか？

英作文の問題で「空には雲がありません。」という日本文があり、
解答は「There is not a cloud in the sky .」でした。

私は「There is no cloud in the sky .」としたのですがこれは誤りでしょうか？
確かにno＋名詞は「一つもない」というニュアンスがあるので今回の日本文と100%一致しないというのは分かったのですが、「There isn’t any cloud in the sky .」(こちらも1つもないというニュアンスがあるかとはあもいますが・・・)なら習いましたが。
今回の解答の「There is not a cloud in the sky .」とう英語を初めて見たのですごく違和感を覚えました。
「There is not a cloud in the sky .」という表現について教えてください＞＜　

「There is no cloud in the sky .」と「There is not a cloud in the sky .」の違いはあくまで「一つもない」と「(単に)ない」というニュアンスの違いだけでしょうか？文法の解説の参考になるURLなどもありましたら一緒に教えていただけると幸いです＞＜よろしくお願いいたします。

「There is no cloud in the sky.」でも間違いではありません。

「There is not a cloud in the sky.」は「雲ひとつない快晴です。」という意味でよく使う言い回しです。

そもそも出題が「雲ひとつない快晴です。」とは随分とニュアンスの違う「空には雲がありません。」なのですから、質問者さんの作文のほうがむしろいいでしょう。問題が変ですね。

"There is no''の方が''There is not''よりも否定の意味が強くなるという理解でよろしいようです:

I would say that ''There is no'' is even more emphatic than ''there is not''. If I had to say ''There is NO ...'' I think I would really pay more attention to the 'no' and I would rise my intonation there.

"There is no apple on the table."について、先の回答No. 3では<弱い否定>となっていますが、回答No. 8では「最も強い否定」となっています。

回答No. 3で引用した記事の執筆者は(多分)日本人であるのに対して、回答No. 8の引用記事は英語ネイティブによるものであるので、回答No. 8の方が正しいものと思われますが、とりあえず「再確認が必要」ということにさせて頂きます。

以下の質疑応答では"cloud"ではなくて"apple"が使われていますが、まず、単数形ではなくて複数形("There aren't any apples on the table" or "There are no apples on the table". )で表現する方がナチュラルであるということです。

次に、否定の強さは以下の順になるということです:
普通の否定　　　1) There's not an apple on the table.
強い否定　　　　2) There's not any apple on the table.
最も強い否定　　3) There is no apple on the table.

I have to say that all three sentences sound awkward as opposed to "There aren't any apples on the table" or "There are no apples on the table".

All these sentences are grammatically correct and make sense. If somebody asks you to pass him the apple on the table, your answer can be one of the above sentences. All these sentences convey the same negative meaning, with the subtle difference that the second sentence with the use of "any" is emphatic compared to the first sentence. As for the third sentence with the use of "no", it's more emphatic than the second one.

「There is no cloud in the sky.」 は、大げさな否定で、少し乱暴のような感じがします。 もちろん間違いとかではなく。

回答を訂正します。

「There is not a cloud in the sky .」には、「雲がひとつもない」と強調する意味があるようです。

Oxfordの用例:
It was scorching and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

Merriam-Websterの用例:
The sun is shining and there's not a cloud in the sky.

しかし不思議なことですが、英語辞典には、
「There is not a cloud.」の用例はあるが、
「There is no cloud.」の用例は見当たりません。

「There is no cloud.」は、文法的には正しいけれども、慣用的には使われないみたいですね。
