on site と Vieux-Bourg site について

上記の内容ですが、「a large proportion of the energy produced is used directly on site」と「Any surplus will be consumed on the Vieux-Bourg site」の2つのsiteの意味とその違いを教えていただけないでしょうか？

site は「現場、作業所」のような意味です。

on site は「その場で、現地で、施設内で」の意味。
Vieux-Bourg site は、ヴュー・ブールの現場（作業所、事業場、工場）の意味だと思います。

ちょっとググって元の文章を探して、更にGoogle mapなんかも調べてみましたが、on site と言っているのはフランスのコマンタリーという町にあるSite de Malicorme（マリコルヌ工場）のことを言っていると思います。

で、もう一つのVieux-Bourg siteの方は、おそらく同じ町のRue de Vieux-Bourg（ヴュー・ブール通り）という場所にあるSite de Commentryのことでしょう。

on site は何か特定のことが起こっている「現場で、現地」の意味で使われる言い方で、site に冠詞は付きません。

on the Vieux-Bourg site は、より具体的に「Vieux Bourg の現場で」ということでこの場合は the が付きます。

両者の「現場」が同一の場所を示すのかどうかは、多分同じと思いますが、お示しの文からだけでは判断は難しく出処記事全体からの吟味が必要です。ただし site という言葉の意味に違いはなく「現場」です。
