get back to the books について教えて下さい

I guess it's time to get back to the books.
という文なのですが、「勉強に戻る時が来ましたね。」
という訳でいいのでしょうか？

またそうだとしたら、get back to the school とどのような違いが
あるのでしょうか？

　私なりに書かせてくださいね。

いいと思います。　ただ、これは、本による勉強にもどる、と言う事になります。　これが、参考書を見てみようよ、かも知れませんし、学術的に書かれた基本に戻る、と言うフィーリングで使っているかもしれませんし、理科や生物の授業で実習を終えて教科書(にかかれた理論など)に戻ろう、と言う意味合いで使うときもあるでしょう。　また、経理の人たちなどはbooksと言って会計簿(のしごと)と言う意味合いで、ランチを終えて、さてまた会計簿と取っ組み合いね、なんていうようにも使える表現です。

Go back to schoolはGo to schoolの理解と同じように、通学に戻る、つまり、夏休みなどで「通学」から離れていた状況から、また通学を始める、と言う事なのですね。

しかしこれが、本文にあるように、go back to the schoolと言う事であれば、遠足や野外研修・観察などで学校から離れていたときに、学校に戻る、と言う意味で使いますね。　校舎に戻るわけです。　go back to schoolは学校としての役割は終わっていて(夏休み中)ただ校舎としての自覚しかないのです。　ですから、退職して時間が出来たので学生として学校へ戻る、と言うのはgo back to schoolなのですね。

ですから、忘れ物をして学校に引き返す、と言う事であれば、I have to go back to the school and get my booksと言うように普通の単語としての使い方になるわけです。

これでいかがでしょうか。　分かりにくい点がありましたら、補足質問してください。

いいと思います。ただ、文字どおりには「本へ戻る」なので、日本語にすると次の(1)～(3)のようないろいろな日本語になります。これら以外にもなります。
(1)本に戻る
(2)勉強に戻る
(3)仕事に戻る
(2)は、本を用いて勉強していて本の内容からそれて少し脇道へ入っていたような場合に、「本に戻る」という意味です。
(3)は、本を用いて仕事をしていて本の内容からそれて少し脇道へ入っていたような場合に、「仕事に戻る」という意味です。

get back to school は文字どおりには「学校へ戻る」なので、日本語にすると次の(4)～(6)のようないろいろな日本語になります。これら以外にもなります。
(4)学校へ戻る
(5)勉強に戻る

(4)の意味を表す場合のschoolは、「学校の校舎や運動場」という意味ではなく「学校での勉強」あるいは「（先生や用務員さんにとっての）学校での仕事」という意味です。
(5)の意味を表す場合のschoolは、「学校の校舎や運動場」という意味ではなく「学校での勉強」という意味です。
(6)の意味を表す場合のschoolは、「学校の校舎や運動場」という意味ではなく「（先生や用務員さんにとっての）学校での仕事」という意味です。

The flooding affected over 22,000 households, resulting in the destruction of livestock, crops and over 1,000 homes – some of them belonging to teachers. The downpours also meant that at least 10 primary schools in Nsanje and Chikwawa Districts were closed or destroyed, affecting thousands of pupils. UNICEF’s intervention has helped most of the schools to reopen.

“「Getting children back to school」 after a disaster is part of a process of returning the children’s lives to normal,” says UNICEF Representative in Malawi Aida Girma.
