直訳は英語で direct translation とは言いませんか？

英語で直訳は direct translation でも　literal translation でもないといわれました。ならどういうのかがさっぱりわかりません。

ネイティブですか？
もしそうなら、知らないんでしょう。
口語では、word-for-word translation と言うのがあります。
それしか知らなかったのではありませんか。

直訳は literal translation　で合ってます。
