季節の前の冠詞、前置詞の付け方

例えば「winter」という季節の用語に関してですが・・。

単純に「冬には」と言う場合は通常は
[in winter ]ですが・・

Q1：米語では「in the winter 」と言う事が多い？

Q2 : winter の前に形容詞がつくと、[in a cold winter]
　　　となり、通常「a」がつく？

Q3 : winter の後に日・月が来ると、前置詞は下記でOK?
　　　[ on a winter day （ある冬の日に）]
　　　[ in December of cold winter （寒い冬の１２月に）]
　　　[ on the night in December （１２月のある夜に）]

米語では、一般的な「冬に」という時は、in winter でも in the winter でも、両方使えます。

でも、ある特定の「冬に」は、in the winter と言います。例えば、

「１９９０年から２０００年までミシガン州に住んでいましたが、冬は雪がたくさん降りました。」などという場合は、It snowed a lot in the winter　となります。

形容詞がつくと a がつくとも限らないと思います。In the hot summer in Japan　とも言いますし。

[ on a winter day （ある冬の日に）] ーこれはOKです。
[ in December of cold winter （寒い冬の１２月に）] ーDecemberはWinterですから、この言い方はどうかな？と思います。
[ on the night in December （１２月のある夜に）]　ーある夜をthe nightはおかしいですよね。on a December night の方がいいでしょう。

いろいろ調べましたが、どちらも同じように使われます。
GoogleUSAで調べると、in the winter, in a winter, in winter の順で　in the winter が圧倒的に多いようです。

一般に冬が寒いなどは　in a winterが使われ、個人的なことを言う場合はin the winterが多いようです。

そのようなことはないようです。
（１）と同じ傾向です。

　　　on a winter day （ある冬の日に）]　　OK
　　　[ in December of cold winter （寒い冬の１２月に）] 　意味的におかしいと思います。
　　　[ on the night in December （１２月のある夜に）]　ある夜　ではなく　特定の夜に対してはOKです。
