A rather surprising geographical feature of Antarctica is that a huge freshwater, one of the world's largest and deepest, lies hidden there under four kilometers of ice. Now known as Lake Vostok, this huge body of water is located under the ice block that comprises Antarctica. The lake is able to exist in its unfrozen state beneath this block of ice because its waters are warned by geothermal heat from the earth's core. 正解はB

本文には"a huge freshwater"とあり、これは"It is not a
saltwater lake."と合致します。

Cが間違いなのは、"his thick glacier above Lake Vostok"が"It
is beneath a thick slab of ice"とあまり合致しないからです。
"slab"は一般的に「平たいの板」を意味しますが、本文にそういう
記述はありません。"the ice block that comprises Antarctica"
は平たくはないのです。

これは迷いますね～。

迷いすぎるので軽くぐぐったのですがこの問題あってるのでしょうか。サイトによってはBの選択肢が "It is a saltwater lake." となっています。そうすると C が文句なしに正しい回答になりますけど…

私は（C)だと考えます。

Now known as Lake Vostok, this huge body of water とありますが、body of freshwaterともbody of seawaterとも書かれていません。それに比べて（C)は明確に文中でblock of iceとあります。迷ったらより文中に書かれてあるものに近い方を選びます。
