それぞれ、関係代名詞を使って一文にしなさい。 という問題です。

(1)He has a friend. Her father lived in New York for many years.

(2)Do you know japanese sportsman? He plays baseball in New York.

（１）答えは　He has a friend whose father lived in New York for many years.　です。

　　
　　He has a friend. Her father lived in New York for many years.
　　という問題文の前半の friend と　後半の her は同一のものですね。だから関係代名詞の whose をつかって一つにまとめられます。
　　whose　は　who の所有格です。

（２）答えは Do you know japanese sportsman who plays baseball in New York? です。

　　　Do you know japanese sportsman? He plays baseball in New York.
　　　同じく前半の (japanese) sportsman とHe　が同じものなので
　　　人を表わす関係代名詞 who　を使ってつなげます。who　は主格です。
