** おそらくこの妻はアメリカ人以外？

夫

「うちの家族ってーのはそういうもんだよ。」

「僕が何か言うだろう。そしたらそうなっちゃうんだな。（笑）」
** "dam it!"は本来は「くそっ！」なんて意味だけどこの人の癖ですね。
and that's the American way, I mean come it's the Kentucky Derby.
「それがアメリカ式なんだよ。つまり、さあ！ケンタッキー・ダービーだよなんてね。」
** 「ケンタッキーダービー」＝アメリカ最大のお祭りというような雰囲気で使われています。
