英語の第5文型について質問です。 He wants to make the event a succ

英語の第5文型について質問です。

He wants to make the event a success.

という例文があり、make a success. で成功させるという意味になるということは理解できるのですが、例文は第5文型でmake OCだと理解しています。その場合、補語にくるのは名詞か形容詞、success には形容詞のsuccesssfulがありますが、make the event successful は間違いなのでしょうか？

下記のような質疑応答によりますと、"make it successful"も間違いではないが"make it a success"の方か普通だということです:

質問:
Do all of three expressions sound natural?
make it a success, make it successful, make it succeed
　Let's work together to make Expo'70 a success.
　Let's work together to make Expo'70 successful.
　Let's work together to make Expo'70 succeed.

Yes they’re all fine. I would probably the first option is most commonly used though.
