gnuplotでのファイル読み込み（mac）

Mac OS X 10.5を使用しています。
gnuplotを入れたのですが、ファイルの読み込み方法がわかりません。
windowsではcallやloadで難なく出来ていたのですが、
Macではどのようにしたらよいのでしょうか？

適切なパスを書けばいいような気がする.

普通にloadコマンドが使えると思うのですが・・・。

[pMan@pMac:~/Desktop]$ cat tmp.plt
set terminal aqua
plot x**2
[pMan@pMac:~/Desktop]$ gnuplot

質問が不十分で申し訳ございません。

初歩的な勘違いで、ファイルを置く場所の問題でした。

内容を変えて再度伺いたいのですが、
ファイルを任意の場所において実行することは可能でしょうか？
gnuplot実行時はcdなどが使えないようですが。
