再インストールが出来ません a problem has been～（代理）

WinXPsp1を再インストールしようと思ったのですが
いざやってみると以下の英文がすぐに表示されて止まってしまいます。（止まるのは使用条件に同意したあとくらいで止まります）何が原因でどうすれば解決するのでしょうか？
ご教授よろしくお願いいたします。

クリーンインストールした方がよさそうですね。
Ｃドライブをフォーマット→再インストールであってますか？

あと、追加のハードウェアを取り外すなど
