という訳文で充分でしょう。
（ただし、原文は現在形で書かれてありますが、、）
それはともかく、上記の訳文が、多少座りが悪いと感じ
られるならば、” 警察は意図して虚偽の自白を強要し、
<それを> 受け入れた。” として、a false confession は、
force だけでなく accept の 目的語でもあることを明確に
示す形にすれば良いと思われます。

I think what you're trying to do/ask is a bit unclear. Are you trying to ask for correction based on your combined sentence? Or are you trying to ask for correction based on the original two sentences?

If you need correction based on your combined sentence, there's no need to talk about the original two sentences.

Also I'm not sure your combined sentence makes sense. Why would the police need to accept a confession? Prosecutors would but not the police.

文の意味を誤解無く理解して欲しいなら、特に曖昧な位置に副詞が来る場合は動詞 force and accept を2つ並べるべきではないです。

この場合は自白を強いることは捜査の都合上意図して行われるはずで、当然 knowingly なのでわざわざこの単語は必要ないでしょう？

得られた自白が疑わしいとは知りながら、まあいいか、と受け入れた、こちらは knowingly が必要です。

This isn't a sentence from a paragraph but instead a title so it's not important to tell the whole story.

Also the sentence is correct - the only reason you may believe it won't be understood is because you haven't read the sentence before and after... And again it's just a title. At present the sentence below is the best I've got so far. If you have anything better, please do let me know. - thanks!!

knowingly はむしろ accept に掛かる気がします。

警察は自白を強要し、その誤りを知りながら（その自白を）受け入れた。

蛇足ですが、和訳に戸惑いの出ないスッキリした英文に出来るのではないでしょうか。

You are correct... the true sentence is actually different.
この二つの文章を一つにしたい

The police knowingly force a false confession.
The prosecutor knowingly accepts a false confession.

They knowingly force and accept a false confession.
彼らが承知のうえで虚偽の自白を強要し受け入れた。

上記はどうですか、まだ可笑しいですか？

「意図して自白を強要」という部分がなんとなく日本語的にしっくりきません。

「警察は意図的に虚偽の自白へと誘導し、それを受け入れた」ではダメですか？
forceは、「強要」のほかに「誘導」という意味もあります。

I think this is my mistake... I changed the true sentence so it would be easier to understand.

The true sentence is actually two sentences:

The police knowingly force a false confession.
The prosecutor knowingly accepts a false confession.

Then I change it into this sentence below however because 'they' is difficult to understand I changed it to police which was my mistake.

They knowingly force and accept a false confession.
彼らが承知のうえで虚偽の自白を強要し受け入れた。

Forcing a false confession knowingly, the police accept it.

強要したことを主張するならこちらの方がわかりやすいかと思われます。
