centos5.3を使用しております。
yumが使用できずインストールしたのですが
実行すると以下のようなエラーが出ます。


[root@vps ~]# yum install squid
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/cElementTree.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.4.3 (#1, Jul 27 2009, 17:56:30)
[GCC 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-44)]

インストールされているPythonと、使おうとしているyumの間において

動作バージョンの不一致がでているとのエラーのようです。

エラーメッセージをそのまま受け取るなら
動作するバージョンのものを入れなおせばよさそうですが・・・

早速の御回答ありがとうございます。

一度Pythonとyumをアンインストールし
バージョンを調べて新しいものをインストールしたところ
うまくいきました。
