Popular onsen destination in Kyushu area

I am thinking of going to Kyushu. Which onsen destination is popular and nice place to stay?

There are a number of hot springs in Kyushu.

Among them, "Kumamoto" or "Oita" seems to be good.
As the famous hot springs there is a "Yufuin" and "Beppu hot spring village" of the "Oita," but, "Kumamoto" to a lot of beautiful hot spring inn, such as not go only locals.
As I personally would like to recommend "Kumamoto".
A good city that local people will tell with a friendly feeling.

It is Beppu Onsen to be the most famous

Town in itself is a hot spring here

The most well-known Onsen would be Beppu.

Other famous Onsens are;
Yufuin

http://www.ibusuki.or.jp.e.xy.hp.transer.com/

You may know that some areas of Yufuin is damaged by the Earthquake on this April,
but now, it is almost nothing about influence by that.
Sometimes there are small quakes in Kyushu Area but it is not specific notification
because Japan has always them.

Kyushuu is very popular with its Onsen stuff.As you see,Kumamoto is still in trouble with the damage by the earthquake happened a couple of months ago,so you better skip to go there for a while.

If we Japanese heard "Onsen" in Kyushu",we easily come up with a name "Beppu" in Ooita.You can find many famous Onsen-s there and they say "Beppu-8 onsen-s".This means there are 8 very famous Onsen-s there.

You can find ton of places to stay as it's also one of famous sight-seeing points in Ooita.

Just put the folloiwng words into Google,then you may come up with what you need.
