How much should I take to japan trip?

If I wanna go to Tokyo from NY how much should I take to there if I wanna stay month?
And plz tell me cheap hotels and food if you know.

It depends on what you want in Tokyo.

Personally, an airplane charge, as difference, about 300,000, when having that, I think they may be able to enjoy themselves for 1 month in Tokyo.

I agree to the Mr/Ms.No.1. That really depends on what you are going to eat, play, do.

Monthly accommodation is not ordinary in this country,
but you may find by sites of travel agency such as Expedia, Booking.com, and Hotels.com.

Credit cards are not used as well as USA.
Off course you can pay by them in accommodations, big stores,
but you cannot pay for subway tickets, small restaurants.
*You may pay by them for long-distant train tickets such as Shinkansen (Bullet Train)

There are many Currency Exchangers. In my experience, do that in Japan from USD to JPY and v.v.
Exchanging rate is terrible for against JPY in USA.

You can use a credit card at major hotels and convenience stores (like seven eleven, famly mart, circle K and so on).

As No.1&2 said how much money you should have depends on what you want to do in Tokyo.

Cheap food I recommend is beef bawl (boiled rice with thin-sliced beef and onion). It costs less than jpy400.

In the urban area in Tokyo,all is costly as you can imagine.Go stay in the downtown area such as Katsushika-ward.Rent a weekly flat for a month there and live like a native.That's the cheapest.Most of areas in Tokyo are time safer than any city in the states.

About $ 350 for a month for renting a flat.In the area like Katsushika,you can find a cheap but good local restaurant,too.
