数字の読み方

andを使うかどうかがあいまいです。。。

数字の123はどう読みますか。

数字の1234はどう読みますか。

数字の12345はどう読みますか。

基本的には (入れるなら) hundred とその下の間に and を入れます. つまり

123: one hundred (and) twenty-three
1234: one thousand two hundred (and) thirty-four (あるいは twelve hundred (and) thirty-four)
12345: twelve thousand three hundred (and) forty-five.
and を入れないことも多いです.

同じ数字でも、場合によって (何の数字かによって)、読み方は変わります。

お金の場合は、ddeanaさんと同じで私も "and" は入れないですね。。。
"1,234" も、読む時は二桁に分けます。
因みに書く時は、"hundred" の後に "and" を入れます。

ただ、"1,203" の場合は "and" を入れます。
しかも、この時は、"and" にストレスを置きます。
"one thousand two hundred AND three"

"番地" や "部屋番号" の場合は、右から二桁ずつ区切って読みます。
この場合は、"and" は入れません。

123 "one twenty-three"
1234 "twelve thirty-four"
12345 "one twenty-three forty-five"

アメリカ生活中、話言葉の中での数字はandをつけないのが普通でした。

なので、
123：One hundred twenty three
1234: twelve hundred thirty four もしくはone thousand two hundred thirty four
(前者の方が圧倒的に多く使われます）
12345：twelve thousand three hundred forty five

ただし電話などで相手に間違いなく伝えたい場合は、ゆっくり言う＋確認の意味で、andを入れる場合もたまにはありました。

Oxford University Pressの 'Basic English Usage'に次のように書かれています。

"In British English, we use 'and' between the hundreds and the tens in a number.
310 three hundred and ten (US: three hundred ten)"

また、Oxford University Press 'A Practical English Grammar' の日本語版『実例英文法』には次のように書かれています。
「《訳者註》アメリカでは通例hundredの次にandを入れない」
