stepmaniaでエラーが出る。Windows7でもXPモードでも

windows7 Professional 64Bitで、
stepmaniaのインストールはできましたが、起動でエラーがでてできませんでした。
CPUはintel core i7 860
グラボはRadeon HD 5850（ドライバは最新（3/7現在））　であり、メモリは４Ｇ積んであるのでスペックは十分だと考えてます。
念のためウイルス対策ソフトを切って起動してみましたができませんでした。

以下エラーの文↓

また、ＵＡＣ切ったり互換モードでやっても効果なかったので
XPモードにStepManiaをインストールしました。
インストールはできたのですが、起動時にエラー。
しかし、Windows7のときとは違うメッセージがでました。

以上です。
どうやらXPモードではビデオカードがS3 Trio32/64になっていて、そのせいでダメなようです。

windows 7 での起動の仕方を教えてください。

Windows7(64-bit)で起動確認。

曲入れてないので演奏は未確認。

おそらくDirectXが入ってない(or古い)んじゃないですか？

回答ありがとうございます。
しかし、ＵＲＬにあるプログラムを実行したところ、

DirectXセットアップによって、新しいバージョンまたは同等のバージョンのDirectXが既にインストールされていると判断されました。インストールの必要はありません。

とのことです。

また、解像度をいろいろ変えてみたり
色をTrue Color(32ビット)からHigh Color(16ビット)に変えてみたりしましたが効果がありませんでした。
